Paper news is being consumed less and less and even online sites aren’t getting consistent traffic on the important stories. Linking and sharing via social media can make issues blow up literally overnight and that can have tremendous impacts on the future of that particular issue. Pariser described the views that come from sharing as coming in “sideways”. When people get involved that are passionate about a certain topic, they tend to share pertinent articles with much more fervor-which can become contagious if enough people get involved.
